ONE LOVE, JAMAICA!

¡Buenas chicos!
Estoy recién aterrizado de Jamaica, y aunque sigo un poco desubicado por el jet lag, no quiero dejar pasar más tiempo sin contaros toda la experiencia de principio a fin que los chicos de B the Travel Brand organizaron para nosotros.

I just landed in Jamaica, and although I'm still a bit out of place for jet lag, I do not want to let you spend any more time without telling you the whole experience from start to finish that the guys at B the Travel Brand organized for us!

Despegamos el pasado domingo 9 de Julio en un vuelo directo desde Madrid a Montego Bay, cortesía de la compañía Evelop, quienes nos trataron genial desde el principio y durante las 8h y 55 min. del vuelo.
We took off on Sunday July 9 on a direct flight from Madrid to Montego Bay, courtesy of the company Evelop, who treated us great from the beginning and during the 8h and 55 min. of the flight.

Una vez pisada tierra jamaicana, nos trasladamos al Resort Riu Negril ***** ,ubicado en el noroeste de la isla, donde nos hospedamos durante toda la semana. La ubicación es muy buena para conocer la parte oeste de la isla y algunos puntos super interesantes como la Laguna Luminiscente o las cataratas de Myfield Falls. En cambio, pilla a unas 6h en coche de Kingston y de la otra parte de la Jamaica. Yo dejé pendiente ruta a las Montañas Azules por este problema de distancias dentro de la isla. Pero no hay mejor razón para volver!
Once on Jamaican land, we moved to the Resort Riu Negril *****, located in the northwest of the island, where we stayed all week. The location is very good for getting to know the western part of the island and some super interesting spots like the Luminous Lagoon or the Myfield Falls. Instead, it takes about 6 hours by car from Kingston and from the other side of Jamaica. I left route pending to the Blue Mountains by this problem of distances inside the island. But there is no better reason to return!

Los primeros días los aprovechamos para descansar y disfrutar de todo lo que nos ofrecía el Resort, pero al tercer día, y no según las escrituras, nos pusimos en contacto con una compañía de excursiones para organizar algunas salidas. Las excursiones en Jamaica suelen ser un poco elevadas, como todo el país en general, pero es cierto que es la única manera de poder conocer la isla e ir un poco más allá en sus hábitos y costumbres.
The first few days we used them to rest and enjoy everything that the Resort offered us, but on the third day, and not according to the deeds, we contacted a tour company to organize some outings. The excursions in Jamaica are usually a little high, like the whole country, but it is true that it is the only way to get to know the island and go a little further in its habits and customs.

Comenzamos visitando el mercado de Lucea, una ciudad pequeñita muy cercana al hotel y donde tratamos por primera vez en el viaje con la parte nativa. Y lo cierto es, que aunque son un poco rehaceos a las personas de color blanca, nos topamos con algunos agricultores de caña de azúcar que nos enseñaron sus cosechas y la forma de cultivar esta joya que ofrece la isla. Esa misma tarde acabamos bailando reggae en el Rick's Café, desde donde se disfrutan los mejores atardeceres de Jamaica y también se encuentra un acantilado de agua salada para los más atrevido y se quieran lanzar. Yo lo hice y la sensación fue brutal!
We started by visiting the market in Lucea, a tiny town very close to the hotel and where we first tried the trip with the native part. And the truth is, that although they are a little rehaceos white people, we came across some sugarcane farmers who taught us their crops and how to grow this jewel offered by the island. That same afternoon we ended up dancing reggae at Rick's Café, from where you can enjoy the best sunsets in Jamaica and you will also find a salt water cliff for the most daring and want to launch. I did it and the feeling was amazing!

A la mañana siguiente nos pusimos rumbo a Roots, un poblado al noroeste de Jamaica donde nos adentramos en una de las cuevas que utilizaban los esclavos para mantenerse a salvo. Fue una sensación un poco dura cuando te cuentan el día a día de estas personas que se encontraban sometidas sin libertad, eso que hoy nos parece tan obvio y evidente. Por la tarde, nos pudimos refrescar en las Myfield Falls, donde atravesamos el río caminando y acabaos disfrutando de una comida típica jamaicana: frijoles, arroz blanco y un poco de pollo frito.
The next morning we set off for Roots, a village in the northwest of Jamaica where we entered one of the caves that the slaves used to stay safe. It was a feeling a little hard when you are told the day to day of these people who were subjected without freedom, that today seems so obvious and obvious. In the afternoon, we were able to freshen up in the Myfield Falls, where we crossed the river walking and end up enjoying a typical Jamaican meal: beans, white rice and some fried chicken.

El viernes, después de disfrutar de mi desayuno rico en mango, nos recogieron para visitar Black River, otra visita obligatoria de Jamaica. Este río, con vertientes de agua dulce y salada, alberga 120 cocodrilos que se encuentran protegidos y en peligro de extinción. Durante el recorrido, tuvimos la suerte de ver a 4, uno de ellos un pequeñín de apenas 9 meses de vida. La segunda parte del día, la dedicamos a visitar otras cataras, esta vez las de YS Falls. El entorno estaba integrado además por dos piscinas naturales que además disfrutamos bajo una tormenta torrencial que duró más de una hora, tras la cual volvió a salir el sol en todo su esplendor.
On Friday, after enjoying my rich mango breakfast, we were picked up to visit Black River, another must see in Jamaica. This river, with slopes of fresh and salt water, houses 120 crocodiles that are protected and in danger of extinction. During the tour, we were lucky enough to see 4, one of them a little boy of only 9 months of life. The second part of the day, we dedicated to visit other cataras, this time those of YS Falls. The environment was also integrated by two natural pools that we also enjoyed under a torrential storm that lasted more than an hour, after which the sun returned in all its splendor.

Para el último día de turismo, dejamos el plato fuerte de las visitas obligadas en Jamaica: el paseo el balsa por el Martha Brae, y la famosa Laguna bioluminiscente. Ambas experiencia son muy recomendables, pero para la segunda, debeos tener las expectativas reales de este tipo de lugares donde se da este fenómenos de la naturaleza. El entorno y el fondo pueden resultar un poco viscoso, pero sin dura, nadar con esta magia es todo una experiencia.
For the last day of sightseeing, we leave the highlight of the must see in Jamaica: the raft ride by Martha Brae, and the famous bioluminescent lagoon. Both experiences are highly recommended, but for the second, you must have the real expectations of this type of places where this phenomenon of nature occurs. The environment and the bottom can be a little viscous, but without hard, swimming with this magic is an experience.

Y llegados a este punto, dedicamos el tiempo restante (un par de días solo) a descansar en el Resort y volver con energía para la segunda parte del verano, que ya os adelanto que será muy, muy, muy guay y que podré cumplir uno de mis sueños: conocer Nueva York y muchas sorpresas más que no os puedo adelantar!
And at this point, we dedicate the remaining time (a couple of days alone) to rest at the Resort and return with energy for the second part of the summer, which I already advance that will be very, very, very cool and that I will be able to fulfill one of my dreams: to know New York and many more surprises that I can not overtake you!
